Haiku + Senryu

Haiku is a seasonal, reverent celebration of a subject (nature or people) trying to make a feeling.
Senryu tends to have a victim and may be humorous or irreverant trying to make a point.
- paraphrased from Michael Dylan Welch's Graceguts

ache...

crossbred seasons
even the leaves
ache for routine

Just a week ago, 4 days of heat wave ravaged my world.
Today I wear long sleeves.
And many trees are dropping strangely coloured and patterned leaves - as per the one above.

ambiguous...

rain starts rain stops
heat wave sentence ends or
begins again

NOTE
Today is our 4th day of heat wave - over 40 degrees centigrade.
The photo is of my verandah this afternoon.
It rained for about 3 minutes.
The rain must have been direct.
The verandah section on the right did not get wet at all - roof overhang.

chilling absence of

NOTE
In my south east Australian world, we are in our 3rd day of heat wave conditions
where temperatures are more than 40 degrees centigrade.
Friday promises to be our 4th.
This magpie arrived on our verandah and sang and sang as the evening temperatures dropped.
He was here till it was quite dark.
